North American and European Cleantech investment totals more than $1 billion in Q3 2006 11/29/2006
Cleantech Venture Network ® researchers reported today that North American and European Q3 2006 cleantech investment totaled $1.081 billion for the quarter. More than $934 million was invested in North American cleantech companies in Q3 2006, 14% of the overall $6.5 billion invested, making cleantech the third largest venture capital category for the quarter. Venture capital investment in European cleantech companies totaled $147 million in Q3, or 12% of Europe’s overall total of $1.2 billion.
 
European Cleantech Q3 venture investment dips to $144 million (€112 million) 11/13/2006
Cleantech Venture Network ® researchers reported today that European Q3 venture capital investing in the cleantech category was $144 million (€112million) versus the $268 million (€209 million) invested the previous quarter. Venture capital is defined as startup through growth stage. The energy segment led the way with $77 million (€ 60 million) followed by $35 million(€27million) invested in the clean manufacturing and industrial segment and $16 million (€12million) in clean Agriculture & Nutrition companies.
 
Cleantech Q3 North American Venture investment tops $933 million 10/24/2006
–Cleantech Venture Network® researchers reported today that North American venture capital investing in the cleantech category realized its 9th consecutive quarter of growth with a record $933 million invested in Q3 2006. The energy segment led the way with $837 million, a 41% increase over the $594 million invested in Q2 2006.

The Cleantech Venture Network LLC today announced in their Cleantech Venture Monitor™ report that a record $502 million in venture capital was invested in cleantech during Q4 2005 in North America. This investment represented an 18.1% increase over Q3 2005 and a 59.8% increase over Q4 2004. There were 73 separate deals done in the quarter, averaging $6.88 million, up 11.5% over the Q3 2005 average.
