Reducing the environmental impact of Cleantech Forum global events.
The Cleantech Group recognizes its conferences have a direct or indirect effect on the regions in which they take place, and strive to minimize our impact. We are as committed to applying best energy, waste and other environmental practices within our own company as we are to promoting clean technology around the world.
No plastic water bottles
Attendees and speakers stay hydrated with pitchers of local water rather than water from plastic bottles, keeping thousands of plastic bottles a year out of landfills and waterways.
Delicious locally-sourced food
Food at Cleantech Group's events is sourced from local providers where possible. Attendees come from great distances to these events, but their food needn't.
Materials on USB drives
Providing attendee materials on reusable USB drives saves over 125,000 pieces of paper each year versus printed binders. The energy attendees spent carrying paper binders around the Forum is now applied towards cultivating strategic relationships.
Eco-intelligent signage
Cleantech Group's event signs are made from 100 percent recycled polypropylene, which does not emit toxic gases and is fully recyclable. A modular directional sign system, used to guide attendees to sessions, is re-used at multiple Forums, keeping materials out of landfills and attendees out of broom closets.
Hotel sheet and towel reuse
Cleantech Group requests its global hotel partners to give Forum attendees the option to re-use towels and sheets, if the hotel doesn't already as its normal practice. Energy usage is reduced when towels and sheets are not necessarily washed daily, leaving more water for splashing in the pool.
Clean technology event staging... lights, sound, action!
Forum organizers work closely with audio & video suppliers to source latest energy efficient lighting and sound equipment where possible to reduce energy consumption. Latest audio & video systems allow speakers to sparkle on stage and sound their greenest.
