Job description

Research interns will work within the team that monitors, collects and processes market data and intelligence. Activities may include: monitoring news, such as the latest deals, government policies and innovations in cleantech; sourcing, contacting and interviewing companies that are seeking funding; updating company and transaction databases; and carrying out research on specific cleantech areas.

Internships provide a unique chance to build up knowledge of the most up-to-date developments in the cleantech space. In addition, the insight and knowledge gained through the day-to-day monitoring of the market means that interns also have an important role to play in detecting important new trends and providing first-stage analysis of their significance.

The position requires a high attention to detail, accuracy, and the skills and temperament to cope with the fast and accurate processing of large data-sets. Successful candidates should also have a “can do” and team orientated approach.

Key responsibilities include

• Monitoring daily cleantech news from a range of sources including blogs, news sites, press releases, research reports, and investor websites
• Maintaining up-to-date and accurate database records with information on new: venture capital deals, IPOs, M&As, corporations, entrepreneurial organizations, government agencies and academic institutions
• Contacting and interviewing companies seeking funding
• Categorising companies in our cleantech taxonomy according to their technology
• Providing market insight and comment to support our analysis output

Position location: London or San Francisco

Duration: Flexible, but typically 3 months
