Analytical Chemist

Analytical Chemist, Transonic Combustion, Inc.

Description
This is a great opportunity to make an impact at the forefront of advancing automotive cleantech. As part of our development of fuel catalysts, our Analytical Chemist will prepare flow reactors, process samples, and analyze the reaction products using GC/MS and wet chemical techniques. This work requires good hands-on experimental skills and familiarity with set-up, troubleshooting, and operation of analytical instruments. Proficiency in data collection, data reduction, and experiment tracking. Prepare analytical standards and run calibration on equipment. Perform routine equipment maintenance to assure proper operational conditions. Our Catalyst Scientist will direct the work and provide oversight.

Location: Camarillo, CA

Qualifications
  • Education: BS degree in Chemistry
  • 4 years experience in GC/MS and wet chemistry
  • Industrial experience in petroleum processing industry or production environment preferred
  • Must be familiar with wet chemical techniques such as titrations, and extractions. precipitation, separation/purification
  • Operation of equipment such as pumps, filter presses and pan filters, reactors, valves, PH probes, Rotovap, ovens
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 35lbs
  • Will consider a recent graduate with significant GC/MS experience
