Catalyst Scientist, Transonic Combustion, Inc.

Description
Our Catalyst Scientist will participate in selection and development of catalysts for use with fuel systems. Primary responsibility is performing experiments as part of our team developing catalysts. This involves preparing catalysts and reactors, processing samples, and analyzing the reaction products with GC/MS. Performs data collection, data reduction, experiment tracking, and reporting of results. Prepares analytical standards and runs calibration on equipment. Performs routine equipment maintenance.

Location: Camarillo, CA

Qualifications
  • Education: BS Chemistry or related field, advanced degree preferred
  • This work requires good hands-on experimental skills and familiarity with set-up, troubleshooting, and operation of analytical instruments.
  • Must have 4 years experience in GC, GC/MS.
  • Experience in the petroleum processing industry or industrial R&D environment preferred.
  • Must be familiar with wet chemical techniques such as titration, extraction, precipitation, and separation/purification.
  • Operation of equipment such as pumps, filter presses and pan filters, reactors, valves, PH probes, ovens.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 35lbs.
  • Transonic will consider a recent graduate with work in catalysis and significant GC, GC/MS experience.
