Fuel Tech lands $3.5m in new orders

Fuel Tech (Nasdaq: FTEK), a leader in the optimization of combustion systems in utility and industrial applications, today announced multiple air pollution control orders totaling $3.5 million.

In the United States, new business was secured primarily from three major electric utilities: a Southeastern alliance partner for which the company's NOxOUT® Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) equipment is to be installed on a small coal-fired boiler, a Midwestern alliance partner for which NOxOUT SNCR equipment is to be installed on two small coal-fired boilers, and a Southwestern power generator, which has placed orders for a NOxOUT demonstration on a large lignite-fired boiler.

Overseas, an order was received in northern Italy for a NOxOUT installation on a municipal solid waste (MSW) incinerator.

“We have become increasingly involved with utilities in the Southwest that are beginning to implement their NOx reduction strategies and are hopeful that the current demonstration and mapping and modeling activities begin to translate to commercial NOxOUT orders later this year,” said John F. Norris Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer.
