I think Americans need to

I think Americans need to switch from fossil fuels to fuels grown by crops. The benefit to this is the change in society that we will see.

If the government subsidized food so that the poor can eat buffets and weight 400 lbs each (like they do today), the price of crops for ethanol will swing higher.
If the government subsidezed biofuel then the cost of food will swing higher. Both food and ethanol are subsidized though.

Either way there will be fundamental changes in the USA that we need. We need more expensive fuel and more expensive food. Has anyone ever been to a poor area of the USA, everyone is obese, everyone has medical conditions secondary to being obese and they can't pay their health care costs. We need to slim them down a little, burn up the extra carbohydrates that we produce that would otherwise just become more fat on a person who already has 30% body fat or more. Less food for the poor in the USA is a good thing.

Imagine americans thinking they are burning their food in their cars, I wonder if bubba would be driving his 10,000 lb oversized pickup in exchange for starving to death or if bubba's little brain can think of a bettery transportation solution. I wonder if all those baby boomers will feel smug in a huge SUV and safe and not mind not having anything on the table, so that they can drive and feel safe. lol.

The fact is the USA doesn't have to produce the world's food, our subsidies on food supress food production in other countries. Our consumption of their oil also reduces the amount of food they can produce. The world does not the need the USA in order to eat, the world needs for the USA to contain itself and stop using the world's energy.

That's why I support ethanol.
