The properties of graphite are probably underutilized. One such property is being slippery. Imagine moving parts being made of graphite steel instead of just carbon steel. Graphite is just a form of carbon. This "slippery metal" would probably be self-lubricating or would require less lubrication. Using slippery metal in engines might make them more efficient.
