50 to Watch Case Studies: Minimizing Construction Waste
A SOLUTION:CATALOG AND REUSE CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
Concular provides a digitized circular materials procurement system
How it Works
Materials in buildings scheduled for reconstruction are tagged using a QR code. Available materials are cataloged on a digital platform and assessed for their deconstructability, environmental impact and potential value. Clients can procure reclaimed materials as needed.
Potential Impact
Construction waste is diverted from landfills and reused, promoting a closed-loop material system. Carbon emissions that would be produced by manufacturing new materials are eliminated.
Ambition
To change the traditional practices within the construction industry, i.e., to minimize the need for the deconstruction in the first place, and to
use mostly reclaimed materials in buildings.
“CONCULAR IS ADDRESSING THE RELEVANCE OF CIRCULAR CONSTRUCTION BY WORKING TOWARDS A RESOURCE-EFFICIENT AND CARBON-NEUTRAL BUILT ENVIRONMENT.”
