Cleantech 50 TO WATCH

Is There Time?

Some say it’s too late, if the fires don’t destroy our world, the floods will. But we say innovation and people with the courage to act on their commitments give us hope.

The Cleantech 50 to Watch annual list highlights 50 early-stage companies from across the globe that are creating groundbreaking solutions to address some of the world’s most pressing environmental and sustainability challenges. The list will introduce you to innovative companies with the dedication, technologies and business models that make it possible to fight the climate crisis.

The companies featured on the list were selected through a rigorous process that involved nominations from a global expert panel of investors, industry experts, and cleantech professionals, as well as in-depth analysis by Cleantech Group’s research team.

Cleantech 50 To Watch Expert Panel

The Cleantech 50 to Watch Expert Panel is made up of over 30 early-stage innovation experts. The panel is diverse in geography, age, background and is at gender parity.

First, we asked the panel to nominate the companies that most impressed them with their early-stage high-impact solutions. We combined that with our own nominations and research on public early-stage awards. We then put this group of companies through qualitative and impact filters. We weighed all nominations by relevance trying to keep a sectoral and geographic balance.

A shortlist of 175 companies was reviewed and scored by the Expert Panel to reach the final 50.

Thank you to our Expert Panelists for their support and time on this project, and their continuous work throughout the year in supporting so many promising sustainable innovation companies.
