Christopher (Chris) Burghardt is a seasoned impact entrepreneur and C-suite executive active as an independent advisor across technology, energy, mobility and sustainability. Chris was until most recently a member of ChargePoint’s executive management team responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s international growth. Prior to this, Chris held senior executive roles at Uber, First Solar, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Daimler and Hill+Knowlton Strategies.

Chris holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an MA from the College of Europe in Bruges and a BA from the University of Sussex and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques of Aix-en-Provence. Chris is a dual Belgian/German national and lives in Brussels with his wife and three young children.

Devrim is a highly successful, award-winning entrepreneur with a career spanning leadership roles in technology, finance and energy. Educated in Paris, London and Yale, where he was a Fulbright scholar, Devrim has since held senior roles at A T Kearney where he led strategy development, Sapient where he established the European operations and as a partner at Lansdowne Corporate Finance.

He is now CEO of UK energy tech company KrakenFlex, leading the organisation from its initial days as a start up (then called Upside Energy) through dynamic growth and subsequent acquisition by Octopus Energy Group.

Dominique Silva is the Innovation Initiatives Leader for Trane Technologies, focusing on the Center for Healthy and Efficient Spaces (CHES) and enterprise-wide innovation crowdsourcing initiatives.

Working closely with the Enterprise Innovation Team and Strategic Business Units, Dominique’s goal is to position Trane Technologies as a sustainability thought leader and IEQ innovator in the HVAC/R space. Prior to this role, Dominique held several product management roles in the climate industry. In addition to sustainable product development, Dominique is passionate about impact story-telling and STEM education. She is currently on the Scientific Advisory Council for Project Scientist, a STEM camp for girls.

Dominique has a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon, as well as an MBA from the University of Manchester and Kelley School of Business. Born and raised in South Africa, she has since lived and worked in 5 countries and is now based in Brussels, Belgium.

In his previous entrepreneur roles, Eric was CEO of Bionik Laboratories, a medical device company headquartered in Toronto and quoted in the US, focused on improving the quality of life of patients with neurological or mobility impairments by combining innovative robotics technology, smart algorithms and AI data solutions. Beforehand, Eric was President Europe of Auregen Biotherapeutics, a startup company established in Switzerland, translating pioneering 3D bioprinting technology for innovative treatments for children patients with rare disorders.

As a senior executive in the pharmaceutical industry, Eric was Member of the Executive Committee of Sanofi Pasteur, the Vaccines Global Business Unit of Sanofi and was President of Sanofi Vaccine Technologies in France. Formerly, Eric was Vice-President Medicine Development Leader at GlaxoSmithkline Biologicals in Belgium.

Before joining the industry, Eric provided strategic advice, being Principal with the Boston Consulting Group in Paris.

Eric is a Medical Doctor and Epidemiologist with a specialization in Public Health and a Master of Science in Physical Chemistry specialized in air Pollution and physics of the environment. He is also a graduate of the French Business School H.E.C. in Paris (MBA, Isa).

François Paquet is the Impact director of the Renewable Hydrogen Coalition. The Coalition founded by Breakthrough Energy, SolarPower Europe and WindEurope promotes the critical role of renewable hydrogen to deliver the EU’s long-term decarbonisation goals. As Impact director, François coordinates the activities of the Renewable Hydrogen Coalition and drives its advocacy outreach, with the support of the Coalition supporters, for the scale up and market uptake of renewable hydrogen. in Finland at Nordic West Office, a pan-Nordic think tank and management consultancy, in addition to

Julia has been working in the field of climate and energy for the past two decades, focused on decarbonizing the industry sector. She is an experienced business developer with a track record of spearheading international projects and integrating sustainability and innovation into businesses and governments strategies.

Julia joined Breakthrough Energy in 2018. She has been shaping and implementing the organization’s activities and partnerships in Europe. As part of that effort, Julia worked with the European Commission and the European Investment Bank to set up Breakthrough Energy Ventures Europe, a €100 million fund dedicated to investing in Europe’s best clean energy entrepreneurs whose solutions can deliver significant and lasting reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

Prior to Breakthrough Energy, Julia served in a variety of leadership roles in the climate and energy sector – heading industry and energy innovation programs at the European Climate Foundation, ClimateWorks Foundation, and the Institute for Industrial Productivity. Kavita Surana is an investor with extensive global experience in climate and energy innovation, integrating technology, market, and policy perspectives across the energy system. She is a Principal at IST cube, an early-stage deep-tech venture fund based in Austria, investing in start-ups and academic spin-offs shaping the future through scientific and technological breakthroughs.

Previously, Kavita worked on climate and energy innovation policy and energy systems as a fellow at Harvard University and as faculty at the Center for Global Sustainability at the University of Maryland, USA. Her research has been published in high-impact journals such as Nature Energy and Nature Climate Change. She was a contributing author to chapter 16 (on innovation, technology development and transfer) of the 6th Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC AR6). She has also worked as a consultant on energy at the World Bank and advised power sector asset owners on M&A activities as part of the wholesale power and energy markets team at ICF.

Kavita holds a Ph.D. in materials science and process engineering from Université Grenoble Alpes and the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), where she developed advanced nanomaterials for high-efficiency solar photovoltaics with patented and scalable manufacturing processes. Nicolas has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, with a deep understanding of the global competitive energy market dynamics and regulatory frameworks, paired with an extensive understanding of creating value through innovative transaction structures in the renewable energy sector. He has held roles in regulatory affairs, investments, as well as strategy and growth initiatives in companies such as Hydro Quebec and Brookfield Renewable.

Ahead of joining BrainBox AI, Nicolas was the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Growth Initiatives at Brookfield Renewable. He built and led a team of 15 professionals who covered the North American wholesale energy market design along with the states, provincial, and federal energy policies. Nicolas joined the Paris office’s corporate department as partner in November 2008. Admitted to the Paris and New York Bars, Nicolas specializes in financing transactions for listed and non-listed corporations.

He has extensive expertise in fund raising (from venture capital to LBO transactions) and M&A transactions, advising both French and international clients, investment funds, managers or targets.

For over 15 years now, Nicolas has been advising issuers or banks on stock exchange law, in the context of initial public offerings, rights offering, block sales, public offers to buy or exchange, and delisting on French and American markets.

He also advises issuers as part of tax exemption transactions by public offering without listing.

Nicolas is co-founder and Managing Partner of TiLT Capital Partners. He was most recently SVP in charge of Mergers & Acquisitions for Engie, a Paris based energy company employing over 150 000 people across 70 countries. He’s been working in the field of energy and project development / M&A for the last 13 years, after 5 years in HR working on social sustainability. He is also a First Mover Fellow of the Aspen Institute. He enjoys structuring the small 200 kUSD access to energy projects in Africa as much as the multi-billion power or oil & gas deals in the US or Russia. Currently based in Paris, Nicolas lived in Brussels and Rome and spent a lot of time on transactions in the US, China, Russia, South-East Asia and South America. Sustainability and ethics have been at the core of his motivation, fueled by his graduation in Philosophy and Political Sciences and translated into a PhD in Economics on this topic, earned magna cum laude from Paris-Dauphine university.

Nikhita Bhagwat

Nikhita Bhagwat is the co-founder and Chief Experience Officer of Trashify Tech. She has been part of the Trashify team since its conception in October 2021. While her educational background has primarily been in architectural design, she has always taken a keen interest in UX and Product Design, which is how she has been deeply involved with Trashify. Her interest in sustainability has been prevalent in her career since the time she was working as an architectural designer in Los Angeles, which led her to get the LEED AP and WELL certifications in her field. She moved to Tallinn, Estonia last week to work on Trashify full-time with her co-founders, Animesh and Pranav. Her primary focus with Trashify now remains on customer experience and outreach.

Petr Míkovec

Petr Míkovec is Managing Director, Chairman of the Board of Directors and co-founder of INVEN CAPITAL, fully employed from May 2014. Petr is responsible for overall fund strategy, deal sourcing, investment process and portfolio value enhancement. Petr was directly responsible for successful completion of investments into sonnen, tado° and Cloud&Heat technologies where he serves as Advisory Board Member. In addition to that Petr represents INVEN at Corporate Club of ETF (Environmental Technologies Fund based in London). Petr has gained over 10 years of experience in Energy sector and over 5 year in Investment Banking.

Prior to joining INVEN, Petr worked at various positions at CEZ a.s. where he as Corporate Development Director implemented updated strategy of the CEZ group, scenario approach to valuation and supervised/led valuations of large investments and divestments in the company (100 million – 1 billion EUR transactions). Prior to his Energy career, Petr worked as a Head of Online Business at Patria Finance (leading investment bank in CZ, member of KBC Group), where Petr turned firms Patria Online and Patria Direct to profit position in two years. In addition to that Petr implemented strategic management reporting which delineated the profitability of the firms Strategic Business Units.

Petr holds a Master’s Degree in Finance and Managerial Information Systems at University of Economics in Prague. As a best student with highest GPA in the class, he completed a four month Professional Diploma Program in Business administration as well as a four month International Internship program as equity analyst at Technovision management fund (hedge fund based in Los Altos Silicon Valley) both at UC Berkeley XT (California).

Pippa started angel investing in decarbonisation technologies in California five years ago​, where she was an active member of the impact investing ecosystem​. Prior to that,​she held a variety of roles in general management, business analysis, ​and ​consumer-facing interactive user experience research and design​. She holds a Masters degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

Richard has more than ten years’ experience researching cleantech innovation, venture capital markets, and start-ups across Europe and globally. He is a regular keynote speaker at major cleantech events and is the driving force behind the annual Global Cleantech 100, a list of the world’s most promising private cleantech companies.

Rob is the Founding Partner of Kiko Ventures, a £400m climate tech VC headquartered in London.
Kiko is the cleantech platform for IP Group, a £1.5bn listed venture capital company that sources evergreen investment capital from the public markets. Rob joined IP Group in 2011 to set up its cleantech division, and it has since become the leading early-stage cleantech VC in the UK. Rob has been in venture for over 15 years, starting his investment career at the Carbon Trust, where he was Head of R&D. Prior to Carbon Trust, he was a strategy consultant at McKinsey, and he continues to partner with McKinsey’s Sustainability Practice in his investment work.

Rob started his career as a scientist working on materials for hydrogen and fuel cells in the 2000s working on both PEM and SOFC. He was one of the first employees of Ceres Power and led the fuel cell team that created the world’s first steel-ceria cell. In 2012, he returned to Ceres as an investor, leading IP Group’s turnaround and setting the strategy that turned that company into a billion-pound success story. Rob is also a Commissioner of the Energy Transitions Commission, a leading international think tank dedicated to providing objective techno-economic analysis on the transition to a zero-carbon world. Rob has a Triple First and PhD in Materials Science from Cambridge.

Suzana Carp is a senior European climate & energy policy specialist, supporting Cleantech for Europe as Deputy Executive Director. She comes from an NGO and Parliamentary background, and has formed and led successful coalitions and campaigns – in particular around the EU ETS, the EU Climate Law, the Electricity Market Design and CBAM. She has written extensively on funding mechanisms to finance the energy transition in Central and Eastern Europe and was involved in the original discussions shaping criteria for the Modernisation and Innovation Funds of the EU ETS.

I specialise in strategic sustainable development and water management for new and existing infrastructure. I founded WASE in 2017 to tackle the global sanitation crisis where we are developing containerised wastewater treatment systems to create biogas, clean water and fertiliser for agriculture. The foundation of WASE is linked to my PhD research at Brunel University into Microbial Electrolysis Cells and their application for wastewater treatment in developed and developing communities.

I have extensive experience in the environmental and social effects on different stakeholders, using a variety of tools to design and implement sustainable strategies into all aspects of an organisation. Previously studied Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Design MSc at Brunel University and Product Design BSc at Bournemouth University.

Tobias Seikel is a senior investment professional with extensive experience in Venture Capital and building startups in the DACH region. He is Co-founder and General Partner at Planet A, believing that it is indispensable to address climate change as well as other pressing environmental issues of our time.

Previously, Tobias acted as Managing Partner at Hamburg based early-stage investor and company builder Hanse Ventures, where he was responsible for the operational management (including the HR activities as well as the trainee program), the business development and the overall project management with the portfolio firms.

Prior to joining Hanse Ventures in its early days in 2011, Tobias worked almost 10 years in publishing. He began his working career as a trainee at Bertelsmann (Gruner+Jahr), moved on to work as the Executive Assistant to the President & CEO of Gruner+Jahr International, before he established the company’s magazine business as Managing Director in Croatia and was then appointed Deputy Managing Director of a Bertelsmann (Gruner+Jahr International) joint venture with Finnish Sanoma Group and Austrian Styria Media Group operating throughout Eastern Europe. Moving back to Germany after more than three years, as Publishing Director of one of Germany’s leading news magazines, stern, and Publishing Director of Europe’s leading art magazine, Art, he was responsible for the magazines’ development and strategic direction from 2008 until 2011.

Apart from his Planet A-related activities, Tobias is a regular mentor and supports several corporations with their advanced training programs or portfolio patronage respectively, such as Google and HMS Hamburg Media School. Furthermore, he acts as a business angel in several startups and as a regular speaker at industry events.
