Meati Foods, developer of mycelium-based alternative meat whole-cuts, raised $150 million in growth equity from Revolution Growth, Cultivate Next, Grosvenor Group, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Wellington Management.Meati Foods uses a proprietary biomass fermentation process with at least 95% mushroom root to produce whole-cut meat alternatives. The products are available in some states in the United States currently, with the company aiming to expand reach. New funding is to help increase production of its products.

Energy & Power

Monolith Materials, developer of plasma pyrolysis technology, transforming natural gas into turquoise hydrogen and producing carbon black, secured $300 million in a growth equity round led by TPG Rise Climate and Decarbonization Partners. Other participating investors include NextEra Energy Resources, SK Capital Partners, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Azimuth Capital. Funding to allow further technology development to increase product offering and capabilities, as well as cement partnerships with industry.

Wildcat Discovery Technol

, developer of platform for discovery of new materials with energy applications, raised $90 million in growth equity from Koch Strategic Platforms, Eastman Kodak and Fifth Wall. Wildcat is reportedly developing a battery cell with 90% increase in energy density as compared to the currently available batteries. The company’s cell does not a cobalt or nickel based cathode, reducing the negative environmental impact of batteries. Funding to go towards developing the high-energy density batteries.

Resources & Environment

Xpansiv, developer of a global marketplace for ESG-inclusive commodities and other green finance products, secured $400 million in equity investment from Blackstone Energy Partners. The company aims to utilize the investment and partnership to scale its products and market. Xpansiv offers trading in renewable energy, carbon offsets, water and materials across multiple exchanges, allowing companies to meet their environmental goals.

Transportation & Logistics

May Mobility, developer of autonomous vehicles focused on self-driving micro-shuttles, raised $110 million in growth equity from Tokio Marine, State Farm Ventures, SoftBank, Next Century Ventures, SAIC Motor, Wanxiang Group, Karma Ventures and 10x Group. The company offers a full-stack driving platform that can be adapted to other mobility solutions. May Mobility is currently working on a vehicle platform in partnership with Toyota. New round of funding to accelerate technological and business development goals, with an aim to roll-out commercial operations in 2023.
