MycoTechnology, developer of an all-natural bio-process for sweetener and protein products using mycoprotein fungus, raised $85 million in growth equity from Oman Investment Authority, Nourish Ventures, Rage Capital, Siddhi Capital, Tyson New Ventures, Continental Grain Company, Bunge Ventures, Maple Leaf Foods, S2G Ventures, Evolution VC Partners and Gaingels MyCo. The company aims to launch products in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, expanding its geographical footprint. MycoTechnology will also further develop its fermentation platform

 

Energy & Power 

Deepki, developer of software for buildings using statistics and computer science to turn existing customer data into energy efficiency action plans, secured $163 million in a growth equity round. One Peak Partners and Highland Europe co-led the funding round. BPIFrance, Revaia, Hi Inov and Statkraft Ventures also invested in the round. Offering a software-as-a-service platform, Deepki aims to enter into the US market in the next year, as well as grow its team by 200 hires. 

Materials & Chemicals 

Bcomp, developer of renewable natural-fiber composite materials for stiff and lightweight vehicle body panels, raised $35 million in a Series B funding round from BMW i Ventures, Porsche Ventures, Volvo Cars Tech Fund, Airbus Ventures and Generali Group. The company aims to scale its production capacity and expand its global commercial footprint. The company has developed a process that uses microorganisms at ambient temperatures to produce biocement® that is used to bind sand and rock. 

Resources & Environment 

Climeworks, developer of direct air capture technology that safely and permanently removes carbon dioxide from the air, secured $650 million in growth equity from Partners Group, GIC Special Investments, Baillie Gifford, Carbon Removal Partners, Global Founders Capital, John Doerr, M&G Investments and Swiss Re. Funding will go towards scaling direct air capture capacity to multi-million-ton and developing the facilities needed.  

 

Transportation & Logistics 

Zongmu, developer of advanced self-driving technology for the automotive industry, raises $157 million in a Series E round from Khaira Capital, Sunic Capital, Caitong Capital, China Cinda Asset Management, Zuoyu Capital, COSCO Shipping Development and Dongyang Guanding. Funding to support the development of production facilities for supplying self-driving systems for at least 2 million vehicles per year. New funds will also go towards continued research and development of its technology.
