Agriculture & Food

Afresh Technologies, provider of intelligent forecasts and inventory planning for fresh produce, raised $115 million in Series B funding from Spark Capital, Walter Robb, Insight Partners, VMG Partners, Bright Pixel Capital, Maersk Growth, HighSage Ventures and Innovation Endeavors. Funding to help further develop its solution to include more products such as meat and bakery. Afresh to also expand to Europe and grow its team with the new round of funding. The company uses a machine learning-powered software engine to optimize inventory and operational decisions.

Energy & Power

WiTricity, provider of wireless energy transmission technology used to power a wide range of household and industrial appliances, raised $63 million in a growth equity round led by Siemens. Japan Energy Fund, Mirae Asset Venture Investment, Stage 1 Ventures, Delta Electronics and Airwaves Wireless Electricity also participated. Funding to go towards electric vehicle wireless charging solution development and launch. The company uses magnetic resonators to transfer power across distances.

Materials & Chemicals

Econic Technologies, developer of catalysts that enable production of polycarbonates, polyols and polymers from carbon dioxide, raised $12.5 million in growth equity from CM Venture Capital , GC Ventures and ING. Funding to go towards commercialization of catalyst and process, with two licensing deals announced in recent months. Econic’s technology allows for up to 50% carbon dioxide incorporation into polymers to make sustainable products.

Resources & Environment

Uravu Labs, developer of atmospheric water generator and decentralized greywater treatment, raised $2 million in seed funding round co-led by Anicut Angel Fund, Rocketship.vc and Speciale Invest. Other participating investors include Vesta Ventures, Verso Capital, Spectrum Impact, Venture Catalysts and other angel investors. Funding to go towards scaling its solution to industrial-scale, leading to commercialization in 2023, as well as expanding in Asia Pacific. Company used waste heat from industries and biomass to extract drinking water from air.

Transportation & Logistics

Atom Power, developer of fully integrated and optimized EV charging infrastructure and energy management solutions, raised $100 million in growth equity from SK and SK Energy. Funding to go towards growing business opportunities and expanding globally to bring digital power delivery to multiple industries. Atom Power has invented a solid-state digital circuit breaker, enabling a smart charging solution for electric vehicles.
