For the second part of the lunch break (please have your lunch first), all, but especially startups, are invited to attend this workshop-style session, in which Cleantech Group will offer its perspectives and viewpoints on our experiences with corporate challenges and programs where corporates seek out innovators to work with. What are the issues we see that arise? What advice for startups do we have in terms of positioning and preparing themselves? And what live challenges (that we know) are out there today (or will be soon) that might be of interest to people in the room?

Ballroom 1 & 2Carbon Offset Supply & Demand Dynamic in Asia
The carbon offset market is rapidly growing, evolving and maturing, subsequently Asia is becoming a hub for offset trading. Asia produces few carbon offset projects compared to Europe and the Americas, while demand in the region continues to grow. In 2021, increased demand and low supply raised prices in the Voluntary Markets but also incentivized investors and regulators to support new and innovative project types. This session will discuss these supply and demand dynamics, and the commoditization of carbon for better or worse.

Ballrooms 1 & 2A Practical Case Study: Offsetting Cleantech Forums, Funding Innovation
Cleantech Group pioneered the idea of cleantech innovation in the 2000s. Now we wish to pioneer not only offsetting events, but doing so by supporting relevant innovations.
We have just taken our first step in the learning journey of how to do so, with a view to continual improvement over time. In this closing session we will share what we have done and why, to offset Cleantech Forum Asia, and what we learned about the voluntary carbon markets in the process. Attendees will be encouraged to share their experiences of offsets and discuss the challenges, opportunities that exist today, to do it as well and as meaningfully, as we would all like.
